The Division of Development Services provides a variety of engineering and construction services for projects built by the private sector. The types of projects include residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional. The infrastructure associated with these projects include grading, transportation, stormwater management and drainage, water, and sewer.
For private sector projects, the division provides similar services which include plan review, permitting, construction inspection, and right-of-way and infrastructure dedication. Plan review involves the review and approval of engineering construction plans to ensure compliance with the County's design ordinances, construction specifications and construction details and the establishment of an estimated cost of construction for bonding purposes. Once plans have been in compliance with the County's requirements and a bond has been posted, a construction permit is able to be issued. During construction, inspection services are provided to ensure compliance with the approved plans, the County's construction specifications, and construction details. For right-of-way and infrastructure dedication, the Right-of Way Office, with the Capital Services Division, processes the necessary legal documents for that portion of the project identified for County ownership and maintenance responsibilities. Please visit statistics for additional information.
Other services provided include the development and update of design standards, construction specifications and construction details. The division also provides assistance to the public for inquiries regarding new, ongoing, and existing construction projects.
