"FREE MULCH CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE"

 

The Charles County Commissioners and the Charles County Department of Public Facilities Environmental Resources Division have announced that free mulch is currently unavailable to the public due to several factors, including a seasonably low amount of rainfall and the time it takes for the mulch to be produced.

“Garden-ready” mulch is expected to be available to the public beginning on Saturday, October 3, 2009 on a first come, first served basis.

Free Mulch Give AwayLet us grind your yard waste into FREE mulch. Through Charles County’s yard waste program and Christmas tree collection, free mulch is available year-round (while supplies last) at the below listed recycling centers. Loading of vehicles is available at the landfill site, however, at Pisgah and Breeze Farm, mulch must be loaded by the resident. Please note available hours:

Breeze Farm Recycling Center, Cobb Island
Wednesdays 11:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M.
Saturdays 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.

Charles County Landfill , Waldorf
Saturdays Only, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Pisgah Recycling Center, Pisgah
Monday - Saturday 7:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M.
